Disney at a Glance: Quoting the World

As a travel agent one of the questions I am most often asked is, "so about how much would it cost to go to Disney World?" This is what we call in the business a 'loaded question.' See here's the thing with Disney, there are not only a lot of options, but also a lot of different factors that contribute to the price of a vacation package. If you find yourself speaking with an agent throwing out numbers willy nilly without having asked any basic questions, politely turn and run (or at least walk briskly) in the other direction, then immediately contact myself or another fabulous Upon A Star Agent 😉.

Factors that play a part in determining your package price include:

1)    Number of Adults/Kids in travel party

2)    Resort classification (value, moderate, deluxe, deluxe villa)

3)    Room category

4)    Time of year

5)    Available promotions/offers

6)    Length of stay

7)    Resort location/available amenities/overall convenience

So while you could certainly spend all the monies, Disney is made not only for all kinds of families, but all kinds of budgets. They are constantly listening to guest requests and what their needs are, in order to better accommodate. For example, there was a noticeable lack of accommodations for larger families (i.e. more than 4). So Disney not only refurbished guests rooms throughout several of their resorts to now accommodate five guests, they also opened new resorts like the Art of Animation, which could accommodate larger parties with a less expensive price tag than a Deluxe villa.

To give you a better idea, let's take a look at a couple of sample quotes....

*Quote #1 - 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 8 & 6), 5 Nights/6 Days April 18-23 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (Moderate Resort) in a Water View Gran Destino Tower Room,  5 Day Base Tickets and included available promotion. Total package price would be $3,371.08

(Gran Destino Water View Room Walkthrough)

*Quote #2 - 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 10 & 5), 6 Nights/7Days July 3-9 at Disney's Pop Century Resort (Value Resort) in a Preferred Room, 5 Day Base Tickets and included available promotion. Total package price would be $3,015.37

Newly Refurbished Room at the Wilderness Lodge

The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

*Quote #3 - 2 Adults, 7 Nights/8 Days June 20-27 at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (Deluxe/Flagship Resort) in an Outer Building Garden View Room, 6 Day Base Tickets and including available promotion. Total package price would be $5,105.54. The same package, but with a stay at Disney"s Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe) in a Courtyard View Room would be $4,029.02

Of course, these are just sample packages. If you are interested in your own magical Walt Disney World getaway, I will work with you to customize the right vacation package for you and your needs. One last note - There are valuable perks that come with staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort (and who doesn't love a good perk), so staying on property is always encouraged.
